Summary

Lisa-Jo Baker is my favorite South African turned American turned author turned awesome. And knowing some of her story, it was really brave of her to write an entire book on the pains and joys of friendship called Never Unfriended. We talk about it, as well as our favorite television shows and Beauty and the Beast and the life of an author, amongst other things. Lisa-Jo is a joy. You're gonna love her. http://neverunfriended.com http://anniefdowns.com #thatsoundsfunpodcast ... join in the conversation wherever hashtags are welcome. :)  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information. Hi friends, welcome to another episode of the That Sounds Fun podcast. This is your host,

0:12.0

Annie F Downs, and I am coming to you live from New York City. Hence the reason this podcast

0:17.3

quality sounds a little different than what you are used to. I am in the city right now

0:21.9

and recording on my phone, and you will also hear Lisa Jo and I recording through an

0:28.6

app that we love called Ringer. And so it will sound a little bit different this week.

0:32.3

It still sounds awesome. Just wanted to give you the heads up, but that's why it sounds

0:35.0

different because I am not in Nashville. I am up in New York. And I'm really excited.

0:39.4

This is a super, super fun week. We have a lot of celebrating to do besides just the fact

0:44.4

that I get to be in New York City. This is the one year anniversary, the happy birthday

0:49.6

to little looking for lovely, my most recent book, Yelp, and so generous and kind in the

0:55.3

last year to not only read the book, but to share it with your people. And that has just

0:59.4

meant the world to me. So thank you very, very much. It has been a really fun year. This

1:04.4

is also our one year anniversary of having our wonderful producer Chad Michael Snaveley making

1:10.0

this podcast sound awesome instead of the way it sounded when I was in charge. So it's

1:15.1

been a full year of us having high quality sounding podcast that match the quality of the

1:21.8

people we bring on the show. And so I'm so grateful to Chad and thankful for our podcast

1:27.2

anniversary today. A year ago actually on April 7th of 2016, the episode was entirely about

1:35.4

looking for lovely and about, I got to read from it and kind of talk about the book. So

1:40.7

if you want to go back and hear that on the one year birthday of looking for lovely, that

1:45.3

is in the archives.

1:48.3

You're also proud of me for all these weeks in a row of the podcast. I know I'm having

1:51.8

a great time too. I really hope you enjoyed the conversation with John Mark Comer last
