Hey, everybody, I'm Justin McGuire, and this is Baseball by the Book, the only podcast that

0:22.9

matters. That's right, folks, you're once again listening to Baseball by the Book, the podcast in which

0:28.6

we talk to authors of baseball books past and present. Well, I suppose a lot of you have been

0:33.8

wondering where we've been the last few months, especially if you're not on social media and haven't had an opportunity to see my explanation there. Long story short, I started

0:43.2

a new job over the summer, and that means that I'm going to an office five days a week for the

0:48.1

first time since I started the podcast back in 2016. That's good news for me and for my family,

1:16.3

Again, though, I'm not exactly sure if and when that might happen.

1:20.1

For now, the idea is that I'll do an episode when I have an opportunity to.

1:24.3

1:37.5

the athletic, Sports Illustrated, NBC Sports, and a bunch of other places, and he currently

1:43.5

writes at Joe Posnanski.com.

1:46.8

He's the author of several books, including The Soul of Baseball and the Machine.

1:53.0

Today, he's here to talk about the Baseball 100. Let's get started.

2:00.3

Hi, Joe, welcome back to Baseball by the book. It's great to be back. It's been a little while

2:05.5

since I've been on the show. Yeah, I think it's been about four years. You were on to talk about
