I think of so many things as we approach Father's Day.

The first thing that comes to my mind was the last time I had my dad on the radio, Friday before Father's Day weekend, 2007.

And we had such a phenomenal conversation when I was co-hosting the show with Mike Lamb.

I used to have my dad on every year on the Friday preceding

Father's Day and we would be in awe of his stories of growing up in New York and watching Lou Gehrig play and Joe DiMaggio and some of the phenomenal football games that he was at.

He talked about being at the Polo Grounds on December 7, 1941, and as a 15-year-old boy,

three years later would find himself in the Pacific Theater off the coast of Okinawa and the Navy during World War II.

We talk about being at the what is still to this day considered the greatest game in NFL history, the

colts and the Giants, the playoff game in 1958 that the colts won in overtime.

Again, most consider it not only the greatest game ever played in the

NFL, but many consider it the most important game played in the NFL. The game was on national

TV back then in 1958 and it was the first ever

playoff game to go to overtime but you know I miss those conversations you know just listening to the history of sports before I was born you know I I think

when you talk about the greatest of all time you naturally go to the period of time that you remember, which normally is when you were alive, right?

The other day I was talking about Jerry West, and most of my audience had never seen Jerry West play.

You know as a kid I was blessed to see Jerry West play and in the 6970 championship season,
