Summary

On today's episode I discuss the elephant in the room with the WNBA. I start by letting you listen to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver talk about Caitlan Clark who has received a lot of media attention. I think it is such a shame that in 2024 we are still talking about someone's race and sexuality. Who Cares? I also think the biggest issue on this topic is primarily the media. I read a column from Phil Mushnick of the NY post who is one of the few who isn't afraid to tell it like it is. I will not be watching the WNBA. The last few weeks has turned me off to their product. I will stick to watching women's basketball on the collegiate level! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

I was curious for your reaction to the hard foul Caitlin Clark took last week and then more broadly if you have any concerns

1:08.0

About her first couple of weeks in the in the league

1:18.4

I'll leave the specific question about the foul to my colleague Commissioner Engelbert. I mean I, other than as a fan obviously, you know, there's's it's not nothing new in basketball that

1:25.4

there's sort of welcome to the league moments especially for heralded rookies but

1:29.5

of course I want to see Caitlin treated fairly and appropriately in the league.

1:34.4

I would say it seems like she can take care of herself.

1:36.7

She's a tough player.

1:39.0

I think it may be lost on some people who are new to basketball in terms of a little bit of the

1:43.2

controversy in the WMBA. What an incredible talent she is, you know, two final fours,

1:48.3

leading score, history of college basketball. So I look forward to watching her ongoing

1:55.0

development in a league. I think ultimately this is very healthy for women's

1:58.5

basketball in the W MBA. It's generating tremendous additional interest in

2:02.4

fairness to the other players and fairness to Commissioner Engelbert
