I was standing in line at a deli in New York on 44th between 3rd and Lexington.

And I was getting dinner for my wife and, you know, myself, and the newborn was still on a bottle.

Right.

But I was, I'd been waiting in line forever.

And I got to call and it was very presidential. Yeah. It's very, is this Rob Wrigal? Yes. Stand by for a call from Lauren Michaels. You know, it was like, standby for a call from the president. And I was like, oh, oh. And I kind of did quick math. Lauren doesn't call with bad news. Right. Right. So I kind of got, I didn't want to allow myself to get excited, but I got excited. So I stepped out of line, which I'd been waiting in for like 30 minutes. So I stepped out of line and, of course, New York is just filled in. Yeah, of course. I could have dropped dead and they would have filled in. Yeah, and you're not getting it back. I'm not getting it back. So I stepped out, I went out on the street, and he came out. I was, yeah, Rob, we thought you did a fine job. We enjoyed your audition, very interesting, and, you know, he's very nice. Would you be interested in joining the cast this year? You know, and that was it. I screamed something. You know, I was very marine still. Yeah. I hadn't had a job in show business. Yeah. So I screamed something like, I'm going to work so hard for you. You made a good choice. I promise, you know, you're gonna get,

I'm gonna work show up every day.

And I'm sure he was like,

he was already hanging up.

It's breaking bread.

I always think of Don Rickles in casino.

Like there's a couple scenes where they show like,

they show De Niro.

Yeah.

And then they show Rickles show De Niro. Yeah. And then they show Rickles.

And I'm like, yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

That's why we chose the business that we chose.

I know.

But the thing is, you could lean in harder on being more of a Rickles face.

Like, I'm still hanging on because I do think I am more De Niro.
