It is the day after Mother's Day, 2022, a happy, belated Mother's Day to all of the moms out there, you know, it certainly did not feel like Mother's Day weekend over the weekend, at least in my area, our area, the Washington DC area, rainy and cold on Friday and Saturday, dry, but still also cool on Sunday.

I know that everyone complains about the weather, but seriously, is this spring, not one of the worst springs, weather-wise, ever in the DC area, it feels like we've had four more colder days this spring than normal, and then knowing how things usually go in the DC area, we're going to go from temperatures being in the 50s to temperatures being in the 90s, in like two weeks, okay?

Zero transition period, zero actual spring, hopefully we do get a true legitimate run of spring weather, we shall see, well, we during Mother's Day weekend did have rookie minicamp for the commanders, now here were three notable things from commanders rookie minicamp to me, okay?

Number one, the head coach of our commanders, Ron Rivera, he told the 2022 first round pick of the commanders receiver, John Dodson, to skip Saturday's rookie minicamp practice, so that he could attend his graduation at Penn State, that was nice, and that got a lot of Ron Penn State's head football coach, James Franklin, put out a tweet regarding Ron giving John Saturday off, number two among the many players.

That commander's rookie minicamp was linebacker Stephen Davis Jr., yes, son of former Redskins running back, Stephen Davis, and number three, and this is my favorite thing, the commander's 2022 fourth round pick, the Louisiana safety Percy Butler, do you know that he actually showed up at the commander's team facility for rookie minicamp, with three suitcases, two of what?

Which were massive, because he thought that he was going to be at the team facility, or at least thought that he was going to have to be attending practices, workouts and meetings at the team facility, until June, he essentially thought that rookie minicamp was something that lasts for an entire month, not for a few days, we had this tweet from commanders insider Pete Haley of NBC sports Washington on Friday evening quote,

that's to ask Percy Butler about this photo, he showed up to the facility yesterday, with three suitcases thinking he was going to be here until June, turns out there was a misunderstanding, until have the chance to go home this weekend, lots of packing that will go to waste, and quote, well good for Percy, he's not being held hostage at the team facility, go figure, but how amazing is that?

That this guy thought that he was required to stay at the team facility or required to stay someplace close to the team facility for a month, that rookie minicamp lasted for a month, no Percy rookie minicamp is like two days, okay, you have an NFL players association, there are rules against holding you for a month like that, as he apparently thought was the case now, I guess it's possible that Butler did this is a joke, okay, I mean, I guess that is a possibility, maybe he did this as a work, and he wants people to

think that he really thought that rookie minicamp was like a month long just because he wants to come across as an eager beaver, I don't know, or maybe this was just a genuine misunderstanding, but whatever the case, that was pretty funny, that's an old timer, a guy thinking or at least pretending to think that rookie minicamp is like 30 days long, well, hello and welcome to a Monday installment of the algaldi podcast, my hope is for this episode of the podcast to be an old timer, I can't promise you anything, but I'll do my best, we have a lot
