Greetings dear listeners. We have a sort of a strange situation here this week.

The second time in the row, one was an act of God, one was an act of stupidity.

And I don't think I'm being too harsh with that. I think I'm directly quoting him.

Ross Douth could not make it here to Washington, D.C. to appear on the remnant podcast.

The first time was because of a snowstorm that really didn't materialize.

And the second time was because according to Ross's own version of a vent,

he was at the airport on time but veging out like he was scaring at a lava lamp

in a 1970s dorm at the wrong gate as his plane took off.

So I told him we would still be willing to do this even though we had to do it by Skype,

which is not ideal for audio purposes. It's not ideal for my own technological challenges,

which are too boring to get into.

But we are so desperate to talk about the state of the Catholic Church today

that we agreed to do this and part of the price which Ross happily, as a good Catholic would,

could be able to be Catholic would, agreed that there would be some measure of mockery of his

ineptitude for not actually being able to get here to Washington to do this in person.

So this is another episode of the remnant podcast. I am Jonah Goldberg, the host.
