I'm so excited. This is my first show as an actual co-host.

Yes and you know Kate and I used to say we're not experts we're two friends who like to

talk a lot about serums. That's right. You have like you've written a book on beauty? I'm not an expert on serums in particular.

So I'm kind of like you kind of are an expert. I'm an expert on the politics of beauty and

beauty standards. Well we are actually two friends who like to talk a lot about

serums. That's right. So I think that is still accurate. We're keeping that. We are keeping that. I mean welcome. I'm so

excited to have you. Thank you. I'm really happy to be here and to spend some time catching up with you too because I mean

likewise like we've both been going through it in various ways you know what it's

been it's been a time in real time there's an old Chinese saying may you live in

interesting times they always attribute that to my people but I don't know if it's really a Chinese say.

But yes, it would be funny if like every racial or ethnic group thought it was like attributable to them.

Right. There's an old Portuguese saying.

It's like, wait a second.

You know what?

I mean, it's funny because like I do, the one hand I'm like yes may I live in

interesting times and like never be bored and like but then I'm also, may I just live in like steady times?
