Hello, everyone, and welcome back to the podcast.

Today's episode is episode 304, and I'd like to take a moment before we get started to wish each and every one of you listening a happy Thanksgiving.

I know it's a uniquely American holiday, but at the end of the day, it's about giving thanks and having gratitude, no matter what

your personal circumstances or what the trials and tribulations are in your life that you may be,

as we all are, at one moment or another, facing. I hope you get a chance to spend some good

time, quality time, with your family and your friends,

and that you get to relax just a little bit before you have to get back to the routine that we all

take on on a day-to-day basis.

Here in my house, we're, of course, getting ready to eat and watching some football.

As we wind down, what I feel was a really successful mini-series on the Tippett murder,

and as complicated as the whole thing gets in the Tippett case,

I sit here and reflect on it all, and I can't help but think in retrospect that if

they had just been able to match up to fingerprints on the window

or the roof of Tippett's squad car, well, it would have been game over. Remember, whoever

the assailant was, Oswald, or otherwise, well, that person was observed by witnesses

leaning in to speak, to Tippett. His hands were all over the car. And yes, there is

newsreel footage from WFAA TV Dallas that shows Sergeant W.E. Barnes of the Dallas Police Department

dusting the passenger side of Officer J.D. Tippett's squad car for fingerprints at the murder

scene on 10th Street in Patton Avenue in Oak Cliff.
