Hello and welcome to the history of Japan podcast, episode 300, the 300th episode Redux.

So I've started getting messages from folks recently telling me there was an issue with

the 300th episode, and I went digging back through my old files and through my hosting

service.

It turns out there was a corruption issue in the original file that made it unrecoverable.

I'm really not sure how that happened.

But because of it, I'm re-recording from the ground up.

So I've got my notes out, and I'll be revisiting all of your questions.

And as I recall, I opened this episode with a monologue about how much I appreciate everyone who is and has

been listening to the podcast, especially those of you who've taken the time to donate to the show

or to write me lovely messages. I do read all of them, even though I don't always respond,

because, man, it's a lot being a teacher and a podcaster and trying to have

some semblance of a normal human life on top of that.

But I really appreciate every kind note, every donation, every just person who reaches out

and says hello, it does mean so, so much, and I'm so glad for the community

that has built up around this podcast, and just for the general greatness of the people

who listen to it.

So really, truly, back then and now and going forward, thank you, truly.
