What's up you guys? I'm Haley and I'm Andrea and this is in Human A2 Prime Podcast.

So today we wanted to cover a couple of current missing persons cases. If you guys have been following along with the Gabby Petito case,

you'll know that she currently or recently went missing, that's the right word. And she was found thankfully pretty quickly and she got a lot of media attention.

But what has been coming to light after that is that there are a ton of people who are missing right now that are not getting that media attention.

And I mean there's always a ton of people missing. There are so many people that go missing every single day. But we wanted to share about a couple of the current ones because you know if you're in the area they're missing from, it's just good to keep your eyes out, pay attention to things you see and share with people around you because you never know who's going to see something that might know something.

Right and there's like so many people that I've seen like on you know social media and the internet saying wow I live in such and such and I didn't even know this person was missing which is just crazy to me that like local news wouldn't cover these cases.

Right. It feels like missing person cases just do not get covered very much at all. I mean there are certain ones that do like back when Amanda Berry and Gina De Jesus went missing in Ohio.

It was covered a significant amount but Michelle Knight went missing and it wasn't covered in the news. So we've seen this happen before and I think that both Andrea and I just threw all the stuff we've seen with the Gabby Petito case were like we have you know we have this platform where we're sharing about true crime and why not share about some of the missing person's cases and we're sharing a lot more on our Instagram as well.

So not every episode is going to be about this but we're we're sharing a lot of missing posters and stuff like that on our Instagram. So we highly recommend you just check out our stories daily and just see if somebody's in your area just just be aware of of who's missing or if you have someone that you know is missing in your area that you maybe haven't seen in the media.

And one of the big things is like some of the people that we're going to be covering today you know they're people of color or you know not traditionally white people and unfortunately that's kind of a stigma in the media is that these people don't get covered based on those and you know we don't know the facts behind that but you know based on like you know the recent developments with Gabby's case like the perception does seem to be that and like no one no one doesn't deserve even Gabby.

No one doesn't deserve that kind of media coverage but it just I mean that's the problem in America in general like that's it's such a big problem in our country and if we can share missing person cases and you know try to share some that are people of color who are missing and then you know we will we want to we want to get as many out there as we can.

So the first one we are going to be covering is a man who has been missing since August 24th his name is Jalani day and he is 25 years old and like I said he was last seen on August 24th he was last seen in Bloomington Illinois which is around the Illinois State University campus he was a student at ISU and he you know was going to school there.

So the last time that he was seen was on the morning of the 24th and I've seen some reports say that he was entering a cannabis dispensary but then on the missing person's poster that his sister has been sharing on Instagram some of them say it's a student campus so not sure 100% which one it is but he was entering a building and he was caught on security footage so he was seen in shorts a blue baseball cap a black shirt.

So he was with I think it has I'm looking at the photo right now it has a logo on it and then black shoes so he was seen caught on security footage that morning on August 24th and his parents and family didn't hear from him his mom who is named Carmen Bolden day she just said it is not like him to disappear without telling someone and she also said that she talked to him almost daily so when she hadn't heard from him the next day.

On August 25th she pretty much was like there's something wrong there's something going on so she reported him missing and I believe they did take a missing person's report pretty early which is kind of surprising in this case or just in missing person cases in general but they did they did pay attention to that and two days after his initial that last spotting and a day after he his mom reported him missing.

So he was saying Jolani's car was found and it was like concealed and abandoned in a wooded area not too far from Bloomington it was about 60 miles north it was in the Illinois Valley gosh I think it's just YMCA it says like Illinois Valley YMCA yeah so I think that's what it is in Peru Illinois which is you know like I said 60 miles north of Bloomington where he was going to school so officers arrived and they they did that.

Really kind of say it was kind of concealed in a wooded area and the weirdest part of that is that the clothes that he was seeing wearing in that security footage were found in the back seat so that's just very bizarre I mean given maybe he had changed into Jim clothes and had put those clothes in his back seat or something but it is very it is very weird.

So the Bloomington Police Department has been looking into it on August 27th they released that security footage to the public so that they could see and again that was taken on around 7 a.m. on August 24th.

So they put out a statement or a release that said the Bloomington Police has worked with and continues to work with several jurisdictions to locate day and locating him is a top priority for everyone involved.

The BPD has also sent out this information statewide and an attempt to locate him. I know that the Illinois State University community is like you know wants to find him.

Yeah, we've had we've posted about this on our Instagram and we've had people responding you know we want to find him that their students there and they want to find him so he seems to have disappeared like into thin air there's no there's no leads there's no nothing going on and it doesn't really seem like the police are pushing super hard you know I'm sure they're they're looking around but they're it there's not like a big major.
