Did you know that you spend almost two hours every night in a state of dreaming?

If you're doing any of the math, that means you'll spend about 30 days of your entire year

having dreams, or about six years of your entire life in a dream state. That's a lot of dreaming and we've all had different kind of dreams.

We've had those dreams where were being chased. We've had those dreams where unfortunately we're not

wearing enough clothes.

We've had dreams where bizarre things are happening and we've all had the dreams

where we are flying.

But we've also all probably had the experience of having some dreams where we feel like something was communicated to us,

where we'd even say maybe that dream was inspiration or revelation. In fact the scriptures have some

really prominent dreams that act as revelations. Think of Joseph in Egypt's

dreams. And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren.

Behold the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream saying Joseph, thou son of David,

fear not to take unto thee marry thy wife.

And especially in the Book of Mormon, Lehi.

Behold, I have dreamed a dream, or in other words, I have seen a vision.

But how do I know when a dream is just my subconscious or my feelings, and how do I know when it's divine? That's a really important

question to explore since we spend so much time dreaming and it's something that

Professor Craig Mansell has recently researched.

Not all dreams are revelatory, but some are.

We shouldn't be ashamed to share our dreams with our family, our loved ones.
