So there was a special meeting called and we were told film masters has been

martyred for the sake of the Lord in Papua and they said we want you all to understand that

that may be you someday. And so what happened when you landed on your main island there?

Well then we were greeted with other European-ish people, you know, other foreign missionaries, so who were there to greet us to orient us to take us to

where we needed to go to get our paperwork done and any shopping that we needed to do and that kind of thing.

That's kind of, it's a great comfort at least at first.

Yeah, at first.

Yes. And to explain to us what was going on. You know, I was very fortunate that I had, not that I worked with them but just older missionaries that I could tell even though I didn't work with them they always kept their eye on me in love and it was a wonderful thing.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

And so from there, so you, when do you start kind of getting out toward your people?

Not for another, I think it was three weeks.

It took a while to get the paperwork,

and then it was Christmas and you know there's no point going

to the language school until after Christmas because it wouldn't start until after Christmas and that was interior in the

among the mountains of the Donnie tribe and so I stayed with gals of the Mission Fellowship who worked in that office which was an intermission

fellowship that was was and is unique in all the world.

It no longer exists, but it was a cooperative thing

among all the missions. They said, listen, we are all here for the same purpose.

Whether our base is in Germany or Holland or Great Britain or the United States or Canada,

nope, no matter, or Australia. We are all here for the same reason.

You know back then were simpler times in the sense that if you were evangelical, it meant you believe the Bible was the word of God

and you knew that the gospel was the only message of salvation and walking in holiness and now
