Hello friends, Edith here. How are you? Welcome along to episode 296 of my podcast,

soundtracking. 296. That is crazy. But I feel exactly the same about this podcast as I did

back in August 2016 when we launched it.

I love it. With every episode, I learned so much and it feeds my curiosity, genuine intrigue and,

let's be frank, nosiness about the craft and the creation of TV, film, music and so many other things. And I absolutely love

making this show and I hope you enjoy listening to it. Every show for me whilst I'm doing

the interviews, the research in preparation for those interviews is a different experience.

I enjoy that side of it as much as I

enjoy doing the interviews is kind of diving into the worlds of these individuals, whether that be

watching old interviews, listening to things, reading things, watching the films, listening to the

music. It is an absolute treat. What a perk of the job. And with this particular episode, I don't really know where to start.

I mean, I'd probably say legend alert, to be honest, because our latest guest on

soundtracking is not only the lead guitarist and keyboardist and many other instrumental lists of

things, of one of the greatest bands on planet Earth,

but has also transitioned with huge success

into the realms of movie scoring.

Johnny Greenwood, ladies and gentlemen,

has formed a formidable partnership with Paul Thomas Anderson

since providing the music for

There Will Be Bloods. And he's also worked with Lynne Ramsey, Pablo Leran and Jane Campion,

who are esteemed company indeed. He's also one of the most understated and humble people

you could ever wish to meet. I can't tell you how long I've been trying to get Johnny on the show
