Should people not join the Green Party and try to make those kind of improve?

I don't think people should join the Green Party.

I don't think the Green Party has a perspective and vision of socialist transformation.

I don't think it recognizes the particular role of the working class.

I think even the name Green itself implies a lack of respect for the preeminence of the working class at the point

of production and the need for growth and prosperity rooted in the working class, particularly

industrial workers.

So change the name, but come on.

Sure, sure.

The Greek party changes name.

The green party is that it's got a bad name in that it's like run by people who you don't want it to run it and it's got a direction that you don't like. Well, hell's bells. Here's Cornel West who you say you like so much, willing to go and say, I'm going to be the new face of the Green Party. Is that not an opportunity for exactly the kind of changes that you're advocating at the DSA that also has

these leadership issues. I think the DSA needs a perspective and a strategy towards an actual

break with the Democratic Party in such a way that forms an independent party that's viable

and strong and far stronger to Green Party. But when's that going to happen? I think that's more viable than imagining a future where the Green Party is a strong opposition

that, let's say, one in five working class Americans support.

So the question is what route?

So in other words, the Cornel West route to me in the Green Party is a less viable route

to that left working class opposition. Less viable than what?

It's not happening. Today is today. And there is an election that's happening in 2024, point

blank period. So whatever fantasy world where the DSA gets its act together and decides to finally

get into politics and wants to break away and have a new party. Hey, I'm all for that.

But you say what you want about Nick Branagh, and I have a lot of things to say.
