i welcome to this very podcast through the miracle riverside none other than anymore rich how are you

good annie happy new year happy new year to you um it's been it hasn't felt like a happy new year

but i'm still hanging in there for 2025.

For some reason in my life, I don't know why this is, but odd number years tend to be better

than even number years.

Unfortunately, I have a lot of data at this advanced age to back.

But I can't remember too many odd number years to begin with a terrorist

attack and as we speak have have Los Angeles burning. So I don't think it's an auspicious

start to the new year. That's for sure. So let's get into Trump Lawfare stuff.

We're at the tail end of this story, but it's important stuff continues to happen.

And we have this contention over the potential sentencing of Donald Trump in the New York case overseen by Judge Murchon,

who is supposed to sentence him. We're recording a little early this week. We're recording

Wednesday. Supposed to sentence him on Friday, and you have Trump doing an emergency appeal

to the Supreme Court to try to put this off. What do you make of it? Well, I think, you know,

the overarching point here is that there's no reason to go forward with this sentence.

It's a ridiculous case. And the only reason that Mershon, joined by Braggg, is pushing so hard to get this sentencing done, is because come January 20th, there will not be any criminal proceedings permitted against the sitting president.

So if they don't get the sentencing done by the 20th, it can't be done for another four years.
