The The Perhaps the greatest twist endings in film comes from the 1995 movie The Usual Suspects. And if you haven't seen it,

well, it's been out for nearly 30 years, so spoiler alert. At the very end of the movie,

the detective realizes too late that he's been masterfully deceived. He's just been hours

interviewing a meek, mild-mannered man, a supposed sidekick,

a nobody, just an unlucky accomplice to a much bigger villain, a criminal mastermind named

Kaiser Soze. The man tells his story. He's emotional, nervous, believable. When the interrogation ends,

he posts bail and the detective is satisfied he'd solved the case. The suspect limps out of the

police station and shuffles down the sidewalk, but as the detective smugly takes a sip of his coffee and looks around the office

walls, it all snaps into focus. Everything he just heard was a complete lie, a fabricated narrative
