Summary

The Halloween party thrown by the Macedonian Association in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1998 was a popular event -- far too popular. Teenagers crammed in shoulder to shoulder with barely enough room to dance. Everyone wanted to get in, but some who couldn't wanted to get back at those who had. What followed sent a horrified shockwave through Sweden.

1:34.3	Gothenburg is the second largest city in Sweden, with a population of almost a million people in the metropolitan area. It is actually about 300 miles away from Stockholm, and it lies on the southwesternly coast of Sweden.
1:41.3	It's about a three-and-a and a quarter hour ferry ride to Denmark,
1:46.0	which gives you some idea of just exactly where it's located in relation to the rest of Europe.
1:52.0	Gothenburg has two universities, 10 folk high schools, and 49 high schools, which means there's obviously a very notable youth population there.
2:02.6	There's also a very notable immigrant population.
2:06.0	Almost a fifth of Gothenburg residents are from countries other than Sweden.
2:10.6	Most recently, Somalian immigrants have been the largest immigrant population in Gothenburg.
