Approximately 24,000 young people each year, somewhere in that range, are being emancipated or aging out of the foster system.

And it means that they have, they've aged out of that system without reunification or their family or without a permanent adoption into a home of their own.

He lives in McLean, Virginia.

Scott, you have a deep passion to help vulnerable kids transition into adulthood,

both here in the U.S. and overseas.

Tell us about how your passion first developed.

You know, Jamie, it really is a God-given passion.

It started back in 2002.

I had gone over with a short-term mission team from my home church to work with orphans

in the country of Romania. We were leading summer camp for these young people. Among the things

that we would do is we would have speakers come in and speak to the young people. And one of those

speakers was a young man and he had actually graduated out of that

orphanage. And I noticed when he would speak to the young people, you could hear pin drop because
