If you put your effort and concentration and to play into your potential to be the best that you can be, I don't care what the scoreboard says at the end of the game. In my book, we're going to be winners.

0:10.1

The talent for so many players today, the talent and the spotlight, it's taking them to heights that their character's not strong enough to support.

0:16.7

I'm one of those set goals and chief goals.

0:19.1

I talked about faith, passion, obviously the drive with the guys that I've been around and the guys that surround me every single day. If I want to be one of the best, I've got to play with and against the best. So that which gets praised gets with beautiful. You're listening to the Hardwood Hustle, brought you by P PGC Basketball. T.J. Roseanne here, welcome to the Hardwood Hustle. Excited to talk a little March Madness today. We're going to dive into some things that you can be learning or should be looking for from the coach's perspective. If you're looking to get better during this tournament, which I always do, I always watch these games and they're a lot of fun. But I also know that some of the best of the best are playing. Some of the best coaches are out there coaching. What can I learn from this tournament? So before we get started, let's get a shout out to our friends over at ShotTracker. What gets measured and gets done. And specifically, I'm going to talk about in the first thing that we can be watching for are some stats that I learned about from our friends over at shot tracker um one of the one of the

1:16.7

stats that I really find uh really interesting and and when I was at shot tracker they explained

1:21.7

all the different stats and where stats can lie where stats can tell the truth and if you ever get a

1:26.8

chance to go check out ShotTracker,

1:28.6

look at the different things that you can measure

1:31.1

and measure just about anything and everything with ShotTracker,

1:33.9

and they do it really efficiently.

1:36.4

But here's when I was in Kansas City with some of the things that I was learning from them.

1:39.8

And one of what we all probably are familiar with is effective field goal percentage.

1:44.0

That's one where it's a statistic that adjust field goal percentage to account for the fact that the three-point goals count for three points, why field goals only count for two points.

1:53.9

So another simple way to say that is if you were to shoot 10 threes and you made three of them, you would get nine points, but you would only be shooting 30%.

2:03.1

And if you were to make three twos out of 10, you would only get six points.

2:09.2

So you'd obviously be shooting 30% from the two and from the three, but you'd be getting

2:12.7

more points because you took threes that are worth more points.

2:16.4

So you'd adjust the field goal percentage for that to be able to make sense.

2:21.0

So I saw our friend, Adrian Mills, he tweeted out a really interesting one.

2:26.2

And he said through the first round of games, that's 32 basketball games.

2:32.6

And Adrian, thanks for sharing that.

2:34.0

The team that had won the category of, That's 32 basketball games. And Adrian, thanks for sharing that.
