episode 274 is an American singer and songwriter best known as frontman and

principal songwriter of beloved indie band Nardisif.

they've just released their gorgeous 10th studio album, Moon Mirror,

produced by the band with Ian Lawton

and recorded at the legendary Rockfield in Wales,

we're delighted to welcome the excellence Matthew Cors to the show.

Matthew Hales from New York, where he was born in 1967,

the son of two noted academics.

His dad Peter was a philosophy professor and his

mum Mary Ann a professor of comparative literature. He grew up on the Upper East Side of

Manhattan near Central Park, but the family also spent two year-long spells living in Paris when Matthew was five and again when he was 12.

Our guest attended the Lisef Francse school in Manhattan,

where he befriended Future Nardeser Sir co-founder and bassist Daniel Lorker. Already an avid listener, it was seeing

Liverpool's own Echo and the Bunny Men at the Beacon Theatre that first inspired the teenage

Matthew to make his own music and he subsequently joined his first band The Cost of Living. After graduating high school he was subsequently joined his first band at the cost of living.

After graduating high school he was due to attend George Washington University

but instead opted to stay put in New York and commit himself to the group.

After several years recording and touring with the cost of living, then a short period with
