worry about President Joe Biden in the wake of his debate performance last week.

They are left with, I think, basically three scenarios.

The first is that Biden remains a presumptive nominee.

He's formally nominated by the party at the Democratic National Convention next month,

and he runs on what has been the best

domestic policy presidency of my lifetime and the fact he beat Trump before and the fact that Trump is essentially

explicitly promising to end. essentially explicitly

decides to step aside and as he does he

endorses his vice president Kamala Harris as the top of the ticket

at the convention in 48 days.

The third is that Biden steps aside and then there's no clear front runner or anointed one.

There's an open battle at the convention in August for the nomination in what's known as an open convention something that haven't seen in 40 or 50 years

So those are the three options Democrats have before them as November draw closer

Obviously which one they choose or happens is going to have enormous implications not just for

the election as we said but also the all of our future the party the country the whole thing

and so the reality for us now is what do we do here, Joy?

What do we as citizens do?

This is our 1776 moments in ways that I don't think a lot of us realize we have to reaffirm those

principles that the founders left England over that that they felt were

important enough to give up their families and their livelihoods to seek out a new

land.
