Today's episode is a topic-based show where I brought in a return guest,

Dave Feldman, and a new guest, Dr. Nick Norwitz. Dave first appeared on the show way back in

the beginning. It was episode 11, I believe, for anyone interested. Nick is a new guest,

but I will be having him back on HBO in the future to go over

his story, background, research, and dietary preferences. So look forward to that coming out

down the road. For this episode, we dove into a topic around a group of individuals who are

being called lean mask hyper responders. Simply put, these individuals

experience very high LDL blood cholesterol readings despite having otherwise great health markers. Over the

years, this group of individuals has often been discussed in a polarizing light. Some saying they

are being incredibly risky risky while others saying they

represent a unique population who aren't at nearly the risk standard LDL research would suggest.

The reality is we really do not know for sure. So steps are being taken to find out in research

this group of people. The beginning of this search is a paper that essentially can be summed up as a formal

introduction to take future steps in studying this population.

If you have been following it online, you may have been flooded with both vocal skeptics

and believers.

For this reason, I wanted to chat with Dave and Nick about what exactly this paper indicates

and what the next steps are for lean mass hyper responders.
