As you know, Kirby Smart's done a good number of interviews lately, and it was on the interview that he did with Paul Feinbaum

the other day that Feinbaum had an interesting point. Kirby Smart gave an interesting remark.

Feinbaum was setting up Kirby for a question, and he said, Kirby, you know, you're the dean of SEC

coaches, or something to that effect. And Kirby semi-corrected Paul to say, well, hold on.

It depends on how you define Lane.

And Feinbaum had a funny remark back to that is, well, you know, people have an hard time defining

lane for a long time.

But what Kirby's saying is, while Kirby has been the longest tenured coach in their current

job of anybody currently in the SEC.

This became true when Mark Stoop stopped being Kentucky coach after last season.

He points out that Lane Kiffin has actually been a head coach in the SEC.

His first and as a head coach by far predates Kirby Smart's first in.

In fact, was it 0-8,9 somewhere around that time that Lane Kiffin first became a

coach at Tennessee.

So obviously his first in his SEC head coach was a long time ago.

He's now on his third different job, which gives you an idea of how crazy this league can be

and probably how odd sometimes Lane Kiffing can be.

Now a head coach in the SEC at a third different spot, and that's like one of, it's only about half of the head coaching jobs that Lane Kiffin's had.
