Johnny Z passed away on February 1st at the age of 69. Johnny Z founded Megaforce records after hearing Metallica’s No Life Till Leather demo. He would go on to promote them, book their first tour with Raven and release Kill Em All and Ride The Lightning. Yeah, we were lucky enough to, we actually got a call from, or an email, I believe, from his manager at the time who reached out to us saying that he wanted to talk to us about his book,

which is called Heavy Tales with Johnny Z. For those of you joining us for the first time,

Ethan and I are professional musicians. We get together every week to talk about our favorite

metal band, The Mighty Metallica. And this was about a year and a half ago that his manager reached out to help us promote his book.

He passed away on February 1st, age 69, and he was the founder of Megaforce Records,

which he found that, I believe, because of the No Life to a Leather demo.
