with The Empire Strikes Back, directed by Irvin Kirchner,

produced by Gary Kurtz, with of course a story by George Lucas,

and another classic score from the wonderful Johnny Williams.

In part one of two, we'll be checking out the main themes introduced to the Star Wars universe in this film

and seeing how Williams expertly manipulates those themes to tell a story.
