1:25.2	The topic for our conversation today is something that people often ask me about, and that is,
1:31.9	what books do you recommend? And so I'm going to focus on one particular segment of American
1:37.1	history and talk about two books that I do recommend, because I think it's important that people
1:42.8	read good material. Now, for those of you don't know,
1:48.0	who have never been to graduate school, I'm going to talk a little bit about that too, and explain
1:53.4	what goes on there. So, of course, I attended graduate school at the University of South Carolina,
2:00.5	and when you go to graduate school in history or other disciplines, I attended graduate school at the University of South Carolina. And when you go to
2:01.8	graduate school in history or other disciplines, I'm sure in the sciences, it's a little different.
2:07.5	But if you go for history, you take three different types of courses. You can take, of course,
2:13.8	knowing that your undergraduate upper level courses are usually 300 or 400-level courses.
2:20.2	When you go to graduate school, you're going to take 500, 600, or 700-level courses, or 800-level courses.
