We are coming up on the time of year just a few days away from the start of what's known as the SEC Spring Meetings. They take

place in Destin, Florida. This is, of course, different than SEC Media Days, which takes

place in July. SEC Media Days, not usually in the sexiest of locale. Spring meetings always at a beach

resort. And there's a little less media around spring meetings. It's really more about the

meetings, although they always make sure to have things like this at a nice place. The point I'm

getting to, though, is that of all the things the SEC is discussing when it gets together for these

spring meetings, what they want to playoff to be, how they want to handle some of the challenges

There is one topic I hope that they address, because I think it matters to a lot of us.

What has happened to the SEC over the course of the last few years that has rendered it,

I think we have to objectively say, as no longer the top

conference in college football. Now, it hasn't completely eroded. It still, for instance, had the most

total draft picks represented in this year's NFL draft, but we're also not in the business

of sugar-coding things here. The Big Ten's won the last three national championships. The SEC,

at least for now, is not what it once was.

And for Georgia and the other teams in the SEC, how do you get back to that? What do you do to get back
