Nicholas Harley Shin was an 18-year-old from Ripley West Virginia. He had an older brother

and was named after his aunt. During the day of June 25, 2003, Nicholas was at an apartment

hanging out with friends, although he had had to run in with a guy there a couple years before.

The group said Nicholas walked off. He was never seen again.

As a 51-year-old, I don't remember the title of today's episode being a phrase or cliche

or idiom when I was growing up. In fact, I don't even remember it being a popular saying

until the 21st century. People now say it for all sorts of reasons, but the most frequent use

seems to be when somebody gets asked about a current romantic relationship, and Sir Ben Kingsley

used it to comedic effect in Iron Man 3. Whoever says this two word phrase is essentially saying,

I really don't have time to explain, and even if I did, you wouldn't understand anyway.

There also tends to be a sense of, I don't want to tell you because I know you'll judge me

thing going on with the saying as well. The English language, due to its design, tends to lend itself

very well to being able to explain something with very few words. I bring this up

because with the disappearance of Nicholas Shin, although the facts are not numerous,

they could lend themselves to a variety of interpretations, making the analysis, well, it's complicated.
