Joining us for episode 267 is a prodigious pair of musical siblings whose uncanny knack for blending the sounds and styles of their

60s and 70s influences with

a contemporary freshness has won them huge acclaim.

Though still in their 20s, they've already notched up no less than five remarkably accomplished

albums and an EP's worth of material in just eight years.

And they've recorded or performed with the likes of Todd Rungren, Foxigin,

Wiseblood, Colin Blundstone, Sean Lennon,

MGMT and Tim Heidecker.

The duo's current offering, A Dream Is All We Know, is fresh off the skillet as this episode reaches you,

and is yet another demonstration of this stellar songwriting, singing, playing and arranging skills.

We're delighted to welcome Brian and Michael Dadario, aka the Lemon Twigs, to the show.

Brian, the Elder of the Two and Michael were born in Queens, New York, but raised in Hicksville, Long Island.

Billy Joel grew up in Hicksville too, didn't he?

He did, indeed, yeah.

Must be something in the water there.

Their father, Ronnie, was and remained a professional musician and songwriter so there were

always instruments around the house and the boys learned to sing and play at an early age.

Both started out on guitar and drums with Brian taking up classical guitar lessons at 12. Incidentally both brothers were also child

actors appearing on Broadway and on TV and in movies. They were writing their own music before

they reached their teens when they weren't obsessively watching the Beatles anthology

that is, recording their efforts to tape on the Dad's old Tascam A track. They found the Lemon Twigs
