There is one thing for Georgia here this year that I think makes it pretty different than it was a year ago.

I want to explain what I think that is, but let's first talk about what I think the complexion of the Georgia team was in 2025.

It was certainly something that Kirby Smart was pretty eager to talk about and describe and explain

that in a day and age in which Georgia, like a lot of teams across college football,

probably not as deep as it once was, the way that lack of depth shows up on a roster

like Georgia's is suddenly you've got a lot more first and second

year players, freshman, sophomore players on the two deep than you perhaps would have had in the past.

This is especially true when you cycle out of the COVID era where there were guys,

Carson Beck's the best example of this, a 2020 signee that was still on the Georgia roster in 2024.

You know, those guys sticking around for a very long time in the same place, there probably is less of that around college football.

And so it had set up a situation for Georgia in 2025, all of a sudden Georgia is this youngish team where a lot of guys, and we know some of the names,

it's the Dantrol Glovers, it's the Juan Gaston's, guys like that.

You've got a lot of these very young players who were called upon to do some big things for UGA.

And going into last season, you really got the impression that Kirby Smart had the sense

that that's what that 2025 team was going to be about for Georgia.

You've got young players in key roles, and you've just got to hope they can handle what's

coming their way if Georgia wants to do what it was attempting to do in the 2025 season.
