One of the main characters of Georgia's football offseason thus far has been a guy

called Phil Rousher. Rousher worked as an offensive line quality control analyst a year ago,

and a few weeks ago, Kirby Smart made the decision, or it was decided among the folks involved,

that Rousher, who had been in a support role a year ago, would step up into the on-field coaching role.

And Stacey Seralds, who was Georgia's offensive line coach last year, would go into the role that Rousher was in.

It was not a necessarily expected announcement, but it wasn't maybe, I don't know, the most shocking thing either.

Seril's stepping back, Rousher stepping up. That was a pretty big deal at the time. And then shortly after that, just a few days ago, we had the reporting from the website Football Scoop. Football Scoop is deep in the world of coaching searches. And Football Scoop let it be known that, hey, y'all don't forget,

Phil Rousher's a good friend of, is it Clint Kubiak?

Is it the new Raiders coach name?

Kubiak and Rousher were good friends, as Kubiak establishes his staff there in Las Vegas,

could be that a newly hired Georgia offensive line coach, Phil Rousher, could be on his way to work with the Las Vegas Raiders. We've already seen one Georgia assistant coach leave this offseason,

Chidero Yuzo Jerebe. He goes to Dallas Cowboys, and now maybe Phil Rousher could be the next one.

And you'll remember on the show, we get the reaction of, well, gosh, this just happened.

Rousher being hired. Don't even really know how good of an offensive line coach he's going to be, but we made it very clear on the show. We didn't want this lack of continuity for Georgia so deep into the offseason. We're only a couple of weeks ahead of spring practice. By the way, more on that in a moment.

If Georgia thought enough of Rousher to promote him at offensive line coach, we didn't want to lose Rousher to the Las Vegas Raiders.

That just was going to be disappointing news.
