As you know from time to time our good buddy Bert Coots often joins us on the show.

He has not been with us for the past few weeks dealing with the death of his father actually.

A bunch of you have reached out to us through Facebook and Twitter and Instagram to express

your condolences and we're all extremely grateful.

I wanted to take an opportunity to sit down with Bert and talk about what his father meant

to him and what it's like losing your father.

We get a lot of messages regarding this subject a lot partially because you know we're at

the age now where our main demographic for the show is between 24 and 45 and that's

right around the age where you start losing your parents, be it a father or a mother.

It is an extremely significant and profound moment in your life and it's not often somebody

is willing to sit down and talk about it especially as a guy.

We tend to internalize our feelings and all of that stuff and I called Bert and I said

I think this would be really important to talk to the audience about if you would be

willing and open to do it and luckily he was so on a Sunday afternoon we got to sit down

and just chat about Bert's father for a little more than an hour and it meant the world

to me and in Bert's father meant the world to him.
