Last time as Christmas 1941 approached the Commonwealth forces were being pushed back, cut off, contained and bled as they lost more and more territory.

Along the north coast the capital Victoria City was being besieged from the east.

Its water supply now lost to the inhabitants and its defenders.

To the southeast in the Stanley area only the two peninsula still held out.

The westernmost one ending in the city Chong Hong Kong and to its right the larger one which held from north to south.

The local police station bungalow number one which contained pillboxes.

St. Stephen's College with more pillboxes to its right along the coast the Stanley Prison and a preparatory school.
