Well, hey there Jennifer here. Hi, I'm going to be talking today about building a business that you actually enjoy running building a business that you actually want to build building a business that actually works for you and your priorities and your family and your life instead of trying to make your life and your family everybody conform to your business.

You know, I see so many people who end up building a business that's taking a lot more energy from them than what they want they they start out, you know, doing it for a lot of the right reasons they're past about something they have a skill they want to make money for their family they want to get out of a nine to five whatever it is.

And then sometimes it seems like they you know they start getting a little momentum they start getting some sales they start growing a little bit.

And then suddenly they look up and they have this business that is really taxing on them emotionally it's really second the life out of them it's it's not as fun as it used to be now it's actually feeling more like work.

They've added all the bells and whistles and all the extras to their company to their business and so what they started out as really almost like a gift is now often feels like judge registry honestly and it's sad when it happens and I know that as an entrepreneur who's had a business now for 21 going on 22 years.

22 years in the spring I can tell you that that's happened more than once in my business and that's always meaning that it's time for a reevaluation it's time for a shift it's time for a reprioritization it's time for some hard conversations.

And so one chat with you about that today so real quick I'm going to read a podcast review from Christie.

Christie Markat says she gets a spiritual kick in the butt I love Jennifer's podcast the wisdom and the insight based on God's word is amazing it's a weekly spiritual kick in the booty and I look forward to every episode every week thank you Jennifer I'm so grateful Christy thank you for your sweet sweet words I'm I love how you phrased all that and I always like even with my book here's not the boss of you I said I hope that it feels like I'm you know giving you a big fat hug while I'm also kind of kicking you in the butt at the same time because it needs to be both right.

Just like it's okay I understand that being you know an entrepreneur's hard it you're right it is really stressful like that compassion matters but also like and yet we're going to get up and keep going sis that matters to that matters also that matters for people to feel like you know seen and heard and all of the things but we if we're going to love one other we can't allow each other to stay stuck.

And I'm convinced that some of you you're building your business not just for you but for your children and your children's children you're building your business so that your family can have some freedoms that you've not been able to experience before and so staying stuck is an option for me it's an option for you either so love you love you Christy thank you so much for your sweet sweet podcast review those means so much to us anytime you guys leave a review.

All right so listen I think that for a lot of people in the last 18 months there's been a re-evaluation of what matters re-evaluation of priorities a re-evaluation of what do we need to be thinking about going forward what do we need to be focusing on going for what does life need to look like what do we want it to look like what do we want to feel like I know Jason I we have sat down and had some conversations about you know what do we want life to look like for us and for our future.

We have a family for the allwood party of six and we've talked about how we want to have options options are so important to me some of you options are really important to you as well and I can tell you that if you were raised in a you know a household where you felt like maybe you didn't have a lot of options where you didn't perhaps often get to have a voice where you didn't often get to you know give you a

hand you know things it's probably even more important to you and me than it is to some other people just to have options I can tell you that I am a super sweet very loving very high S personality but I wrote a boss called fears not the boss or book called fears not the boss of you I also I don't like anybody being the boss of me in my life I want to answer to Jesus I want to answer to my husband and my children and my family but otherwise I don't want people to be able to

make decisions that affect me and me feel like I don't have any choices I don't like feeling like that I think it's the way I was raised I think it was watching family members growing up who felt out of choices who felt like there were no other choices and when you've seen some of that up close I think sometimes it becomes even more important to you to know that you have options and so if you're listening to this podcast today and you have a business and options are important to you I want you to know me to friend me to

I get it I don't like my future being dependent upon the decisions of anybody else so then okay so okay Jen alright so then what does that do with his podcast well if you two want to have options and you want to create a life where you feel like you get a say you've got to really then look at your business because for most of us it's our business

that is allowing us to do or not do certain things in life.
