of Alla Nazimova. My main source for this episode is the book Nazimova by Gavin Lambert. And I used

a lot of old newspaper articles as well. This is going to be a three-parter because there's a whole chunk

there's a whole important chunk we got to get to next week. The hotel. The hotel stuff. Okay, but

where we last left off, Alla has been getting rave reviews on Broadway. She starred in Hedda Gabler

in a very unusual but critically acclaimed performance of that role. And that was in 1906. So in

January of 1907, Alla Nazimova was starring in both Hedda Gabler and in a doll's house in the role

of Nora. So she's doing more Ibsen. And these are to packed theaters. Right. She's selling it out.
