market activity but this guy was writing about the price of nickel I don't know if you guys saw this it's about

nickel prices okay if you sell if you sell nickel futures at a price of twenty five thousand dollars per

ton and then the price of nickel futures goes up to one hundred thousand dollars per ton then in some

simple arithmetic arithmetic since you have lost seventy five thousand dollars per ton if you sold

one hundred tons of nickel futures then you have lost more than seven million dollars but if you

sold one hundred fifty thousand tons of futures the math changes a bit it becomes nonlinear and

relativistic if you sold it one hundred fifty thousand tons of nickel futures at twenty five thousand

dollars per ton and then the price goes up to a hundred thousand dollars your banks will call you up

and say you have lost eleven billion dollars can you pay that please and you will say I would prefer not

to and an insane series of events will happen here's the insane series of events one the nickel

exchange will cancel a bunch of trades and declare that actually the market price of nickel is forty eight

thousand dollars per ton magically reversing most of your losses then the exchange will call you

and say okay let's close you out of that trade at forty eight thousand dollars per ton then you

will say no this is still too much money for me to lose I prefer not to then your banks will say

well okay how much are you willing to lose you will say I would close out this trade at thirty

thousand dollars that's how much money I'm willing to lose your banks will say okay fine we'll
