through Westmoreland County, just to the south of Leachburg, where I lived.

I remember going out with my parents in our car to check the damage after.

And yes, the tornadoes, of course, hit a trailer park.

Luckily, no one was killed. That event left a lasting impression on me.

I can remember that every time after that, when a thunderstorm would pop up,

I would start wondering if the tornadoes would come back.

On the other side of the spectrum, my brother, who was a truck driver,

tells a fairly funny story about how a fierce storm in Kansas,

got him out of several tickets for speeding and being overloaded.
