cloudy Russo to my pop-hide oil and joining us for episode 251 is an

American singer-songwriter who first made their name in the music world as lead vocalist

for quintessential L.A. Indie Darling's Rylo Kylie, but has since established

their self as a highly respected solo artist. Over the years she's worked with

the legs of Beck, Elvis Costello, St Vincent's, Bright Eyes,

She and Him, the Postal Service and Serengeti, and Via Blue Note Capital has just dropped her fifth studio album,

Joyall, produced by Dave Cobb and recorded in Nashville's legendary

RCA Studio A. We're very happy to welcome the wonderful Jenny Lewis to the show.

Jenny was born in 1976 in Las Vegas and raised in Van Nuys, California in the San Fernando

Valley. Her mother Linda Lewis was an accomplished singer while her father Eddie Gordon

was a harmonica virtuoso and the pair performed together in a touring lounge act.

Jenny's older sister Leslie would accompany them on the road before a younger sibling came

along, shortly after which their parents separated and they moved to California with their mother.

A child actress from the age of three,

Jenny's lengthy resume includes movies like Troop Beverly Hills,

The Wizard, Fox Fire and Pleasantville,

and Sundry TV shows, including The Golden Girls,

Growing Pains, Roseanne, Baywatch and Meade, she even played

Lucille Ball's granddaughter in the short-lived 80 sitcom Life with Lucy.
