I'm doing great. I'm actually sitting here on my laptop right before this looking at

Welsh history and great Welsh warriors. Now that I find out through ancestry.com that I,

indeed, have Welsh ancestry and so excited. Well, it turns out we both do. I don't know what that

means. We're going to figure that out. But what we are going to figure out today is how

the hell Paul White got in the wrestling business. Our subject today is the giant. Of course, he

would go on to be the big show. But long before he was the big show, he was just the big kid.

That's somebody in WCW saw something in. Eric, let's start at the beginning. Chat me up. When

was the first time you heard about this giant of a man, Paul White.

I'm guessing it was late spring, early summer, to the best of my recall of 95.

There was a basketball tournament or a charity basketball game of some kind. Some event

that Hulk Hogan was a part of and Paul White happened to be there. And I'll come

me back and said, you're not going to believe what I found, brother. And told me all about it.

And just because Hulk was so excited, I had to naturally I was interested because he was like over

the top drilled. I mean, he thought he found, you know, he thought he found a train car full of

Spanish gold bullion. I mean, it was crazy. He first sort of broke into the wrestling business

in 94. He tried to join the WWF, but really sort of got the cold shoulder and just got dismissed.

Allegedly, Pat Patterson didn't even watch the tape that might Kiyota, the famous referee from

WWE who ran into Paul gave Pat because Pat assumed it was the wrestler who would go on to be

Kyrgyn. So he never even bothered watching because he felt like he already knew who it was. And

he was on his radar. And anyway, he makes his debut at an independent show December 3rd, 1994.
