Today we are honored to welcome Gary

Plattner to our show to tell us about how he got started and answer some of our

curiosities about the magic he makes at Blizzard. Hi guys I'm Gary

Plattner I am a principal exterior level designer on World of

Warcraft. Thank you very much for joining us Gary. We're very excited to have you on

and this is going to be a lot of fun. Can you tell us exactly what a principal level

designer at Blizzard does? He principally levels designs. That's great. All in the title. Man, the business card for that just explains it all.

Oh, man, I need a new business card. This is a relatively new position for me. I've been doing this for almost two years now.

For most of my time in Blizzard, I was. I've been doing this for almost two years now.

For most of my time in Blizzard, I was a lead environment artist.

But yes, now I am principal exterior level design.

It's a really cool position.

When I used to give people tours I used to say and this is true that the external level design team takes everybody's work from the design and the art departments puts it all together and creates the game.

It's really, it's really the best job in the company.

It is amazing.
