Hey, everybody. It's Breaking Bread with Tom Papa. And today is a very special one. It means a lot to me. We get to spend some time with the great Dave Attell. Man, oh man. This really, really means a lot because when I first started in New York City as a young wannabe comic, Dave was already the guy. He was David Tell. He just walk into any club and he just

had more jokes during a week than anybody would have. And I say that, excuse me, and I say that

during the week because he would literally have this most brilliant stuff on a Monday and then on Tuesday he would have

gotten rid of all of them and moved on to the next stuff. He was just so lightning fast and so

prolific and so intimidating as a young comic. I actually at one point had to stop watching him

because I had to get my own act together.

And there was a period in New York where everybody just thought, well, I've got to try and be as good as that.

And that was impossible.

And he's such a distinct voice that the only way for me personally

to grow was to avoid Dave a while because he was so powerful and it really does mean a lot to me

moving his brain is very active he uh he wants to he wants to bob and weave but we got a really nice amount of time out of Dave Attell,
