I'm Patrick Bedevi host to value team and today we're going to talk a little bit

0:20.2

about sports and that is should these college athletes who work their

0:24.3

tails off and make billions of dollars for the NCAA actually get paid?

0:29.4

There's two different sides to the argument One side they shouldn't because the scholarship

0:34.0

is already aware of them getting paid, right? And so if we do pay them, they're going to be

0:37.4

spoiled, they won't put as much effort to play. Then on the other side it's a

0:40.7

business if the NCAA is making money they should as well. I got

0:54.4

11 billion dollars only two sports made more money than the NCAA that's the

0:58.8

major league baseball and the NFL and C double a made more money than NBA and

1:04.7

NHL. The president of NCAA made 1.7 million dollars last year which he

1:08.6

should because he generated revenues. Point number two is a lot passed back in 1972. It's called Title IX. The

1:17.2

purpose of Title IX is to not discriminate against different sports. So if I'm

1:22.4

playing college football or basketball or tennis or gymnastics or track I

1:26.2

should one get more scholarship because football is more important in tennis and it's also a

1:31.7

discrimination against men and women.
