Hello everyone and welcome to the Stephen King cast.

One Man's Musings on the Works of Stephen King.

Each week I'll review one entry in the bibliography of Stephen King and the chronological order of publication.

And what you're going to get out of this episode, it's not a review.

It's not focused on any particular published work by Stephen King.

Really, when this episode first came out, this came out in July, July 15th, specifically, of 2016.

And in this episode, you're going to get some reviews, some podcast reviews for me, some listener emails, and then the bulk of the episode was dedicated towards news surrounding the, at the time, upcoming Dark Tower and It movies.

Now, both of these are long in our rear view going on 10 years,

but at the time, this was just a series and episodes that I did where I was discussing news

as it was coming out related to these two projects. So as we know, one was a major success,

and one was not.

So unfortunately, the Dark Tower news, the Dark Tower movie didn't shape up.

But in these episodes here, it's fun to get to hear me so enthusiastic about the possibilities

of a Dark Tower movie, which I still hold a torch for, because at the time of this recording, Mike Flanagan is, he is overseeing a Dark Tower adaptation for Amazon.

So though it may not be a movie, it shouldn't be a movie, nor should it ever been really a movie.

I'm excited about that. But at the time,

at this recording, definitely I was, I was being optimistic. I was flying high on this podcast and all things Stephen King and the crippling realization that the movie itself was a train wreck had not hit me yet but um there's a lot

of good stuff even though this isn't tethered to any particular uh published story by king um it is still

fun to dive back and and bounce around um different different time periods like stepping through a one of the

doorways within uh within midworld you

never know where what what side you're gonna you're gonna wind up the in the wends and the

wares in this particular case step through this doorway and you will wind up on July 15th
