Simon and joining us for episode 242 is an American comedian, actor, writer and musician.

He's perhaps best known for his groundbreaking comedic exploits not least as one half of cult duo Tim and Eric

but more recently he's emerged as a seriously accomplished songwriter with a string of impressive solo albums under his belt.

a gorgeous song cycle looking back on his early 90s adolescence, produced by Drew Erikson

and featuring contributions from the likes of

MacDim Marco and Kurt Vile, we're deeply excited to welcome the brilliant Tim Heidecker to the show.

Our guest was born in 1976 in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Correct, yes.

Tim developed a passion for music at an early age,

inspired in no small part by his piano playing Grandmother and his dad's love of the Beatles

cream Simon and Gar funkel and Joni Mitchell. He eventually began picking out tunes on the

guitar and as a pupil at Allentown Central Catholic High School,

where he also discovered a flare for acting,

he started writing songs and played in various bands

with names like the pulsating libidos,

time and other things, and Shaggy's belt buckle.

That last one's my favourite.
