Now, about the next leg of this very physical trip,

keep in mind that Mexico City is long ways from the Texas border. It's mostly due south from Laredo. And Monterey, Mexico is the

first major stop after you leave Nuevo Laredo. Now, Monterey itself is a pretty good-sized

destination city, and it's a good

stopping point. And so they arrive in Monterey Thursday night, the 26th, around 6 p.m.

After about a four-hour bus ride. You have to appreciate that the first leg of this trip from Houston to Laredo was done in the dark

in the wee morning hours when folks at least should be sleeping. But this part of the trip, the first

leg inside of Mexico was done in the afternoon with folks wide awake, just having changed buses and having gone

through immigration and customs and perhaps gotten a bite to eat before getting on their way.

And so it was time for Moswald to meet a few people.

At the first rest stop, after the Fletcher Roja bus left the border,

Meryl McFarlane, who had been aware of Oswald sitting behind her in the second row of seats had noticed Oswald
