of which I go about things. I'm going to change it up here and there, but not to distract you from the point, only to point it out clearly.

My audience, in 1970, I voted for Ronald Reagan as the first Republican governor in California

since Governor Goodwin just night, who was the other Republican from 1953 to 59.

I voted for him in his second term. I have voted ever since. But I was never into politics, as a matter of fact. I thought it was so

boring. I also thought, who cares? What's the point? Governor, president, senator, who's its

face? And what does it all mean? I was busy. I was a college

kid, my budding career. Oh, that's a real joke. As an advertising exec for television,

I became aware of the news department. Believe it or not, there was a lot of
