Our study tip for this episode is study in context, not out of context.

So here's what that means.

We are really, really good at grabbing verses or phrases from the scriptures,

pulling them out of the scriptures, and highlighting them, footnoting them,

looking at cross-references, connecting them in chains,

printing them on papers, putting them on our wall, framing them,

doing that cool lettering thing

that is really popular in writing in verses, all of which is good, none of which is bad,

but that's pulling verses out of context. And sometimes pulling a verse out of context is like

pulling one particular element out of a painting.
