I would like to spend the last part of the show talking about something that does matter.

You may know you may have heard there is currently a national prison strike going on in

this country right now.

And I'd like to read now the original press release about the prisoner strike.

This is going on from August 21st, the September 9th of this year.

And I just want to read here the first press release and statement and their list of demands.

Women and women incarcerated in prisons across the nation declare a nationwide strike in response to the riot in the

correctional institution a maximum of security prison in South Carolina.

Seven comrades lost their life during a senseless uprising that could have been avoided had the prison been not so overcrowded from the greed

brought by mass incarceration and a lack of respect for human life that is embedded in our nation's penal ideology.

These men and women are demanding humane living conditions, access to rehabilitation, sentencing reform and the end of modern day slavery.

These are the national demands of the men and women in federal immigration and state prisons.

One immediate improvements to the conditions of prisons and prison policies that recognize the humanity of imprisoned men and women.

Two an immediate end to prison slavery.

All persons in prison in any place of detention under the United States jurisdiction must be paid the prevailing wage in the state or territory for their labor.

That is a really a big one.

You know these wildfires that are burning all of California.

The foreigners are mostly the ones fighting these wildfires and they're fighting it for a dollar a day.

That's what they're being paid to do this.

And if they get out of prison they are barred from seeking employment as firefighters.

And you'll remember Kamala Harris said of these wildfires like you know we can't stop using prison labor because you know we're also getting at the people to fight these fires.

For a dollar a day fighting the wildfire fighting wildfires that kill people all the time and have destroyed vat swaths of California.
