And we thought, by the time that this comes out on the Wednesday,

you probably just about had enough.

They thought we'd do something very different.

And I'm sat down with Sarah Moore to talk about why you should care about cross-country.

Now, I have to admit, Sarah, I love riding cross-country bikes.

I love the sort of trail riding thing.

I'm not someone that needs to ride the gnarliest, craziest shit all the time. I don't know anything about the race scene, though. I know there's Julian Absalom. Here to convince you. There's an up-and-comer called Emily Batty. Oh gosh. She's going to do really big things. Julian Absalom is still winning everything. It's your history lesson with Henry Cui. Is that about right?

Are they still the big hitters?

Totally.

Yeah.

But it feels like in recent years, the discussion is that cross-country has really maybe got cooler, got radder and badder.

Is that actually, is that something that just the people say on the outside or is that what

the real hardcore fans feel as well?

I think it has gotten cooler. I didn't feel cool when I was a cross-country rider.

Like you would go out in your spandex and go and crush some intervals and it was almost like gravel riding or, I mean, gravel writing is kind of cool now too,

but it just wasn't perceived as cool.

Why is that?

Why wasn't it cool?
